Marleece Barber MD, MHCM is a corporate occupational health physician and human resources executive with nearly twenty years of experience. A board certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Barber's focus has been optimizing the health, wellbeing and performance of the employees and companies she has supported around the world.  By developing innovative approaches to worksite health promotion and delivery, she has contributed to enhanced employee engagement. In highlighting the link between effective leadership and health, she positively challenges organizations to create work environments where health can flourish.

Her first professional job after graduating from college was as inventory control manager in a manufacturing warehouse. After deciding to pursue and then completing her training as a physician, she chose a career in industrial medicine. Dr. Barber has worked as a treating physician in hospitals and manufacturing facilities in the aerospace, petrochemical and agricultural industries. Having worked alongside her employee peers, she has gained keen insight into the demands that affect workers from the hourly to senior executive ranks in fortune 100 companies. She has performed as a regional managing physician for Shell Oil, and Director of Global Health, Safety and Work-Life for Deere and Company. She is currently Chief Medical Officer and Director of Health, Wellness and Health Plan Benefits for the Lockheed Martin Corporation. 

In addition to being a proven leader, she is a gifted speaker, singer and songwriter with a unique ability to inspire the human spirit. Marleece's specialty is not only in making the case for why health should be a top priority, but convincingly delivering the message across multiple platforms.

 

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, she received her B.S. degree in Chemistry from Dillard University, Medical Doctorate from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and her Master of Science in Healthcare Management from the Harvard University School of Public Health. She is a wife and mother of two who is dedicated to using her training, talents and experiences to support the wellbeing of those she serves
